Former AC Milan forward Kevin-Prince Boateng believes that former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli could have won three Ballon d’Or awards during his career.
Boateng, who played alongside Balotelli at AC Milan, witnessed the Italian’s qualities up close.
Balotelli scored 33 goals and provided nine assists in 77 games during his time at AC Milan.
However, it was in Man City that Balotelli’s meteoric rise began, with impressive performances that garnered attention.
Despite early promise, Balotelli’s career trajectory did not lead him to the pinnacle of European football, as he later made moves to clubs such as Swiss side Sion and Turkish club Adana Demirspor.
“I love Mario Balotelli; I think he could have won three Ballons d’Or,” Boateng, who is a former Ghana international, said via (GOAL).
Balotelli won the Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010. He played for the likes of Liverpool, Marseille and other clubs.
