Professor Mrs. Goski Alabi, a Strategic Leadership lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, has said Ghana and other African countries lack strategic leadership, resulting in the Continent’s underdevelopment.
Prof. Goski said: “as a country, we need to know what we want to achieve and also know our vision as a country.â€
The strategic leadership lecturer further said even though Ghana and other countries have many natural resources, they are unable to utilize them due to poor leadership.
The academician cited the Continent’s oil resources which are controlled by foreigners.
“We do not get any profit out of the oil we extract here in our own country because we are not prepared to own the oil and make good use of it,†she added
Prof Mrs. Goski Alabi added that in order for Ghana to make use of its resources, it must strategize well.
“If we do not change some of the things that we do, we cannot move on well as we expect.â€
Prof. Mrs. Alabi was speaking with Atinka News on the sidelines of the Colloquium 2018 on the theme: “Strategic Leadership: The Panacea for Organized Sustainability in the 21st Century.†The programme was organized by the University of Professional Studies.
Prof Goski Alabi also touched on the perennial flooding that has become a worry to the country, attributing the problem to laziness.
“We are lazy; that is why we do not put proper measures in place to solve the flood situation in the country. We rather wait till the rains start and floods take over our communities before we start putting shoddy measures in place to solve the problem.
