GFA Foundation provides financial support of GHS10,000 to ailing Legon Cities keeper

Director of the GFA Foundation, Malcolm Frazier Appeadu, visited the ailing former goalkeeper of the Black Satellites and Black Meteors, William Essu, and presented a generous donation of GHS10,000.

The primary purpose of the visit was to assess Essu’s current health condition and convey heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery.

During their meeting in Cape Coast, Essu shared the details of his illness, including the disappointment of missing out on being part of the Black Meteors AFCON squad.

He also spoke about the challenging period he has faced over the last five months.

Essu expressed profound gratitude to both the GFA and the GFA Foundation for their financial assistance and the caring support they have extended to him.

His brother, Alexander Essu, noted a noticeable improvement in William’s condition since he resumed treatment two days earlier.

The Director of the Foundation reassured them that the GFA is actively working with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure that the rightful bonuses for William Essu and the last Under 23 qualifying team are disbursed.

William Essu was a member of the National Under 23 Black Meteors team that successfully qualified for the CAF U23 AFCON.
