Don’t hail me, I dislike it – Joe Mettle

Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) 2017 Artiste of the year, Joe Mettle, has expressed his thoughts about how he feels awkward when people eulogize him.

The ‘Bo Noo Ni’ hit maker, explained he is unable to come to terms with mostly radio and television presenters and events MCs, who attach so many attributes to his name while they can be simple without being extra.

“I think one of the things that makes me really uncomfortable is when people give me too much hype and pressure. I like just a simple environment; I’d rather just do my best to glorify the name of the Lord, that makes me very comfortable. Sometimes I wish these presenters will just mention my name straight without adding any extras when I’m about to perform.” He said on Rainbow FM.

According to him, when such accolades are added to his name, he feels he is taking the place of the one who has called him, referring to God.

Mettle also added that, being successful does not necessarily mean what one possesses, but being able to achieve whatever God has planned for you to achieve.

He also stated in his opinion, getting money does not guarantee one’s happiness but having a care free and stress free life does.
