The host of the award-winning sports program “Fire for Fire” Mr. Patrick Osei Agyeman popularly known as Countryman Songo has urged the government to clean the football system now.

Speaking on his show, the sports journalist stated that Ghanaians now have the opportunity to sanitize the football system with the right people and right measures.

His comments come after the Number 12 Anas exposé on football and politics and also the pulling out of Mr. Kujo Fianu from the government’s interim football committee.

Countryman Songo added that Ghanaians should not consider Anas’ investigation to be the end of the changes needed in the football system rather pressure needs to placed on government to immediately ensure that reforms are implemented.

He further lamented on the current state of the Ghana Premier League due to the greed, selfishness and corrupt nature of some football referees, match commissioners, and administrators.
