Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, has firmly refuted allegations suggesting that he postponed his scheduled South African concert due to poor ticket sales, stating that those making such claims have ulterior motives that are destined to fail.
Burna Boy went on to reassure his South African fanbase that the concert will proceed as planned. He is actively working to address any outstanding issues to ensure a smooth and successful event.
Taking to Instagram, Burna Boy dismissed the allegations, highlighting that just last year, he had an audience of 100,000 South Africans outside the concert venue during a previous performance, demonstrating his popularity in the country.
“I was in SA last year, and I had 100 thousand beautiful South Africans waiting outside for me, so no dead agenda can Agend. I will see you real soon, South Africa. I love you,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
Reports suggest that Orlando Pirates made an attempt to boost stadium attendance and increase ticket sales for Burna Boy’s concert by offering complimentary concert tickets to the first 250 individuals who purchased season tickets for Pirates’ home games. This strategy aimed to incentivize sports fans to attend the artist’s performance as well.
