Head Coach of the national U-20 team of Ghana, the Black Satellites, Jimmy Cobblah has praised the character of his players after coming from a goal down to beat Benin 3-1 in the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers.

The Black Satellites conceded an early goal in the first half after Benin forward Allagbani Saliou found the back of the net in the 22nd minute of the game at the Cape Coast Stadium.

WAFA forward Richard Danso scored a brace sandwiched by an Isshaku Konda goal.

Coach Jimmy Cobblah admits his sides struggle but was full of admonishing for his players, for their strong comeback.

“It was a difficult game especially when they scored the first goal,” he said after the game.

“The goal disorganized us a bit but I want to give credit to my boys for coming back strongly in the second half to win the game.”

Ghana will travel to Benin in a fortnight time for the second leg of the encounter with a place at the Africa Youth Championship at stake.

The Black Satellites, missed out on the last edition in Zambia and are poised for a place in Niger 2019.
