A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Adentan, Nii Ashie Moore, has indicated that he will contest the party’s Greater Accra Chairmanship position.

The one-term MP lost his bid to contest in the party’s primary to a former presidential staffer, Mohammed Ramadan.

He is reported to have said he has been rendered jobless since the defeat.

He will come face to face with the incumbent Chairman, Ade Coker, who has also indicated his intention to seek re-election.

Ashie Moore, who confirmed his next move to Citi News said he would be picking up his nomination forms soon.

In 2015, Nii Ashie Moore, lost his bid to Mohammed Ramadan, the son of Alhaji Ramadan, National Chairman of the People’s National Convention, PNC.

Mohammed Ahmed Ramadan, who was not tipped to pose a fierce competition to  Nii Ashie Moore rather polled a staggering 2,387 representing 59.4% votes of the total votes cast.

Ahmed Radaman, with a finance background, was a presidential staffer believed to have received massive backing from the presidency.

Ashie Moore polled 1,130 representing 28.12%, whiles Mallam Issah, a one-time incarcerated sports Minister in the NPP administration, managed a measly 97 2.1% of the total votes cast.

The other contender, a former Municipal Chief Executive, Kakra Vanlare, who was considered a significant threat to the former MP, instead polled 368 representing 9.1% of the total votes cast.

The Adentan Constituency, created in 2004 after it was carved out of the Ashaiman Constituency, is notoriously known for changing legislators in every election.

The first MP to have represented the NDC in Parliament in the constituency was Kojo Adu Asare.
