Renowned comedian and social commentator, Kwaku Sintim Mintah (KSM), has criticized the Mahama administration for its lack of clear direction and effective governance, which he believes has allowed the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to dominate discussions with distractions.
In a recent submission on his YouTube channel, KSM highlighted the ongoing dispute between the government and the NPP over a cocaine scandal, which he feels has overshadowed critical government initiatives. He argued that the apparent absence of a strong and clear government agenda has created a vacuum that allows the opposition to push forward what he calls "silly agendas."
According to KSM, if the government had a well-defined national plan with specific policies and goals, there would be little time for such distractions.
He stated, "If the NDC developed a national agenda, complete with clear policies, interventions, and a framework for the country's progress, it would fill this vacuum, making it impossible for anyone to create unnecessary controversies."
KSM also expressed frustration with the lack of energy and momentum in the current administration. While acknowledging that President Mahama possesses energy, he suggested that the President lacks the full support of his ministers. "They won power because people wanted fresh energy, but now, the momentum is missing," KSM said.
To address this, KSM called for a more hands-on approach from government officials, especially sector ministers, who need to outline their plans and support the President's vision for the country.
He warned that failure to do so could have serious repercussions. "The energy I see with the President should be matched or even surpassed by the ministers. If we lose that drive, we risk losing a lot," KSM cautioned.
