Sheikh Issah Salifu Taylor of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has defeated incumbent George Mireku Duker of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat.
Taylor received 35,906 votes, representing 47.11% of the total votes, while Duker secured 27,404 votes, or 35.96%.
Independent candidate Joy Joycelyn Andoh earned 12,903 votes, making up 16.93% of the vote. Taylor’s victory ends Duker's tenure, which began in 2016.
He has pledged to serve all constituents and focus on the development of Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
