Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has delivered a stern message to Antony regarding his limited playing time this season.
Antony has found it difficult to secure a regular spot in Ten Hag's lineup, having appeared for just one minute in the Premier League so far, as a late substitute against Brighton.
Last season, the Brazilian had only five goal contributions across all competitions, and Ten Hag seems to be questioning his commitment during training.
With Manchester United set to face Barnsley in the League Cup midweek, Ten Hag has the opportunity to rotate his squad. However, it remains uncertain whether Antony will feature in the match.
Ten Hag has emphasised that Antony needs to significantly improve his training performances to earn more playing time.
Ten Hag told reporters: "We have training every day, and the players have to earn the right to play.
When players are doing the right things in training, when the attitude is good and they show performance in training,, then they will earn the right to play."
Manchester United will take on Barnsley in a midweek League Cup fixture before resuming Premier League play against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Antony will be hoping for some playing time in these upcoming matches.
