Actor Prince David Osei has thrown his support behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the upcoming general elections, encouraging Ghanaians to vote for the party as a path to prosperity.
Speaking at the NPP's manifesto launch in Takoradi, Osei expressed confidence in the party's leadership, particularly commending the achievements of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He emphasized that the NPP has the vision and strategies needed to elevate Ghana and realize its full potential.
"A vote for the NPP is a vote for posterity. I understand that times are tough, but it’s a global challenge," Mr. Osei remarked, pointing out that economic difficulties are being experienced worldwide, including in the UK, the US, Canada, and neighbouring Nigeria.
"The alternative is not the solution.
Acknowledging the current economic hardships, Osei noted that these challenges are part of a global trend affecting countries like the UK, the US, Canada, and Nigeria.
He cautioned that choosing any other party could lead the nation into serious trouble, insisting that the NPP is the only viable option for progress.
Osei also highlighted the relief measures provided by the NPP government during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as free electricity and water, as well as support for small businesses.
He pointed to the advancements in digitalization under the NPP, including the digital property address system and the Ghana Card, as key accomplishments voters should consider.
"Vote for progress. Vote Bawumia. Vote Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the incoming president," Mr. Osei urged, expressing his belief that Dr. Bawumia's leadership would be a continuation of the progress initiated by the current government.
In closing, Osei urged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia and Matthew Opoku Prempeh, believing that their leadership would continue the progress already underway.
