Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal in the film "Red Carpet" at this year's AMAAs.

The announcement was made during the 20th edition launch held on October 2 in Ikeja, Nigeria. Jackie will contend with fellow nominees Girley Jazama, Oyin Oladejo, Unati Faku, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Laura Pepple, and Ife Irele for the top honour.

Prominent figures in attendance included Tony Anih, AMAA's Chief Operating Officer, and Kingsley James, producer of the AMAA gala night.
