SuperSport has confirmed that football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa will be able to watch all 63 matches of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 live on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax.

0

This comes after the broadcaster secured exclusive rights to show the tournament, which will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

1

This year’s competition marks the first time the Club World Cup will follow a new, expanded format. A total of 32 top clubs from around the world will compete, including some of Europe’s biggest teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG, Inter Milan, and Porto.

2

Africa will also be well represented. South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, who claimed the CAF Champions League in 2016, will join Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad AC (Morocco), and Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia) in the tournament.

3

Wydad is currently coached by Rhulani Mokwena, who previously led Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

4

The Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana, Alex Okyere said, “As Africa’s biggest sports broadcaster, we are proud to be able to bring fans the best in sporting action; to bring them the biggest names in the game and, of course, the biggest clubs coming up against each other.

6

We are especially honoured to partner with FIFA to bring the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup 25 to Sub-Saharan Africa viewers.

7

“As we’ve seen with some innovations on the European continent with the new UEFA club competition format, fans are primed for fresher approaches to long-standing traditional tournaments. We see the FIFA Club World Cup 25’s evolution from seven participating teams to the staggering 32 teams as a move that will pique the football interest of passionate fans.

8

SuperSport cannot wait to be at the forefront of this historic transformation and to give the viewer a front-row seat to the global spectacle.”
