Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has shared that if football hadn’t worked out for him, he likely would have pursued a career in painting.

Before choosing football, Partey had started training as a painter—a trade his father encouraged him to explore because of his natural talent. Although he gave it a shot, his love for the game eventually won.

1

"Maybe I would be a painter," he told The Footy Culture during a quick-fire Q&A session. "I used to be good at it, but now I don't know," he added.

2

"I remember one day my father took me to a painting shop to start painting, but I went there once, and the rest of it was on the field."

3

Despite his early interest, Partey didn’t confirm whether he plans to return to painting one day.

4

Meanwhile, his season with Arsenal took a hit after the club was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain.

5

Partey has been quite impressive following his injury return. He marked his comeback with an impressive display against RealMadrid after which many called for a contract extension for him.
