Manchester City have completed the signing of Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez for €60 million (£50 million). The 23-year-old Spaniard becomes City’s fifth acquisition of the winter transfer window, agreeing to a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League champions.

City’s total spending this window now stands at £180 million, marking the second-highest expenditure by any club in a winter window, trailing only Chelsea’s £274 million outlay in 2023, according to Transfermarkt.
Gonzalez, who began his senior career with Barcelona in 2009, made the switch to Porto in July 2023. During his time with the Portuguese side, he registered nine goals and nine assists
