According to The Telegraph, City are currently eyeing Chelsea keeper Marcus Bettinelli as Carson’s replacement. The 33-year-old is the third choice at Stamford Bridge, with just one appearance - in a 2022 FA Cup clash with Chesterfield - under his belt.

City are eager to get Bettinelli on board before the 2025 Club World Cup, with a “small fee” required in order to land the experienced custodian, who was called into Gareth Southgate’s England squad in 2018 during his time at Fulham.
