The Crystal Palace striker takes over the role from his older brother, Andre Ayew, who has not been included in the 23-man squad for these crucial matches.

Meanwhile, Thomas Partey, who led the team in their previous qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, has reportedly declined any leadership position in the squad.

Jordan Ayew, an experienced member of the Black Stars, will now lead the team as they fight for important points in their bid to qualify for the World Cup. Ghana recently missed out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and is determined to secure a spot at the global tournament.

The Black Stars will play Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24.

Currently, Ghana sits second in Group I with nine points, the same as group leaders Comoros. The team will begin training on Monday, March 17, in preparation for the matches.
