2 mins readManchester United's skipper, Bruno Fernandes, has broken his silence on his alleged link to Saudi Arabia following the club's disastrous campaign in the 2024/2025 campaign.

Bruno, speaking with Sky Sports on Tuesday, June 3, confirmed the Saudi Arabia transfer speculation, saying it was a "big offer," though he didn't disclose the exact amount.
1
Bruno Fernandes currently earns £300,000 per week at Manchester United, which amounts to £15.6 million per year, but Saudi's Al-Hilal was allegedly willing to triple it to around £700,000 per week if he accepted their £100 million transfer offer.

But he said despite the juicy offer, he prefers to stay with the English club.
3
“There was that possibility. The president of Al Hilal called me a month ago to ask me about it. It was a big offer, very ambitious. There was a waiting period for me to think about the future."
4
“It would have been easy to move there, but I want to keep myself at the highest level, playing in the big competitions, and I feel capable of it. I am happy with my decision,” he noted.
5
He was, however, ready to leave if the club wanted him out, but the club's coach, Amorim, after learning about the links, "really tried to talk me out of it."
6
“As I have always said, I would be willing to do it if Manchester United thought so, adding that his wife also influenced his decision to choose between Saudi and Utd. I spoke to my wife and family, and she asked me what my personal goals were in my career."

News about Saudi's interest in the Portuguese gained traction in late May 2025, when reports emerged that Al Hilal had met with his agent to discuss a potential £100 million transfer.
9
The rumours heightened following financial difficulties the club faced following their failure to qualify for European competitions, making a big-money sale seem like a possibility.
10
Fernandes led the United ranks for both goals and assists this season, racking up 19 of each across all competitions.
11
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United in January 2020 from Sporting CP for an initial fee of €55 million (£47 million)
12
He is nearing a goal-scoring milestone for his career in England, sitting on 98 as he now heads into a seventh season.
13
The club captain has won the League Cup and FA Cup with United, as well as finishing as Europa League top scorer twice en route to collecting runners-up medals.
