General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Charles Osei Asibey, has revealed that the association is planning to honor Ghanaian football stars Andre Ayew and Asamoah Gyan for their outstanding contributions to the sport.He explained that SWAG wants to recognize the dedication and achievements of the two players in Ghanaian football.

The honor is expected to take place at the SWAG Awards, which will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025.In an interview on Asempa FM, Asibey admitted that the information was supposed to be kept secret. However, he explained that SWAG believes Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan truly deserve to be honored.

“This is something that I don’t have to say because it’s private, however, we have made plans to honor the legendary Asamoah Gyan and Dede Ayew for their contributions to Ghana football, so we will continue to consider it,” he stated.However, Asibey clarified that no special awards have been designated for the legends at this time.“There is no special award for them at the moment; we are not in those times,” he
