Arsenal are in advanced talks with midfielder Thomas Partey over a contract extension, as the club looks to secure his long-term future, according to Football Insider.

Partey, 31, joined the Gunners from Atlético Madrid in 2020 and is nearing the end of his current deal, which expires at the close of the season.

1

With the summer transfer window approaching, the Ghanaian international has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Barcelona and Juventus, as well as several teams in Saudi Arabia.

2

Despite earlier reports suggesting Arsenal were willing to let Partey leave on a free transfer, his impressive performances since returning from injury have changed the club’s stance.

3

The midfielder’s experience and quality have proven vital to Mikel Arteta’s side, prompting the club to push for a new deal.

Partey has made 47 appearances across all competitions this season, highlighting his importance to the squad. His absence was notably felt during Arsenal’s Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, where the midfield struggled without his defensive presence.

6

He is expected to return for the second leg at the Parc des Princes.

7

Sources close to the club indicate that Partey is settled at the Emirates and open to signing a new two-year contract.

8

However, if an agreement is not reached soon, he remains open to exploring options abroad, with growing interest from both European giants and Middle Eastern clubs.
