Ruben Amorim has said he is yet to decide who will start in goal for Manchester United’s crucial Europa League match against Lyon. This comes after André Onana was dropped for the 4-1 loss to Newcastle United on Sunday.

Onana was left out of the squad following two major errors he made in last Thursday’s 2-2 draw with Lyon. In his place, Altay Bayindir made his first Premier League appearance but struggled, especially after a mistake that led to Newcastle’s fourth goal. Bayindir’s poor pass was intercepted by Joelinton, allowing Bruno Guimarães to score with ease.

When asked who would start against Lyon, Amorim responded: "You guys have to wait. We are going to start the next week tomorrow [Monday] and I'm going to choose the best starting XI for the next one."

Amorim also criticised his team’s second-half performance at St James’ Park. Though Alejandro Garnacho equalised before halftime after Sandro Tonali's opener, United fell apart after the break, giving away three goals.
7
"When we suffered the second goal in the beginning of the second half we went down and we need to be better in these moments, we need to control it," Amorim said. "They are already a really, really good team but the mistakes we made during the game helped the team to win confidence and win the game."

This latest loss is United’s 14th in the league this season. With only a few games remaining, they are now certain to finish the campaign with their lowest-ever points tally in the Premier League era.
9
"It's the reflection of our season," Amorim admitted. "We need to accept that and to move forward and try to do things so much better in the future so we don't have this kind of season again."
