Prominent figure in Nollywood, Zack Orji, recently shared his harrowing experience of surviving two brain surgeries following a fall in his bathroom.Speaking on Channels TV, he credited his survival to divine intervention, narrating how he endured hours before receiving medical assistance.
The actor detailed the incident, recalling, “I slumped in the bathroom, and I can only say that it’s by the grace of God that I’m alive today because I passed out. I was out for like five and a half hours before help came."
He expressed gratitude for the swift action of colleagues like Benedict Johnson and Labista, who helped transport him to the hospital. Dr. Biodun Ogungbo, a renowned neurosurgeon, performed the initial surgery on January 1st, followed by a second procedure a month later to address a residual blood clot.
Orji also acknowledged the outpouring of support from various quarters, including political leaders and well-wishers from Nigeria and abroad. He mentioned receiving assistance from notable figures such as the President and First Lady of Nigeria, the Vice President's wife, and several ministers.
Reflecting on the overwhelming response, Orji remarked, “I'm grateful to God Almighty and to so many people who stepped in. It was overwhelming the way people responded to the whole thing.”
“I was receiving calls from South Africa, from the UK, from the US. Some of them were willing to, they were asking me, how can we help? How can we be of assistance? So it was overwhelming the way people responded to the whole thing”, he added.
The actor's journey through these challenging health issues underscores the power of resilience and the importance of timely medical intervention.
