2 mins readRenowned Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has called for a higher standard of political conversations in the country following recent comments about National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi.

Her comment comes on the back of conversations held on the back of a recent video of Sammy Gyamfi counting some dollars as a gift to televangelist Patricia Oduro, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

Ghanaians are unhappy with the act, and the minority is calling for his suspension.

But in a strongly worded social media post, Nana Aba Anamoah questioned the logic behind insinuations that Sammy Gyamfi had no dollars until his party came to power, describing the claim as both shallow and unserious.
3
"You mean Sammy Gyamfi had no dollars until his party won the election? He had never seen dollars before January 7, 2025?" she quizzed, expressing disbelief at the argument which she initially thought was just social media banter.
4
"I thought it was all social media banter until I heard the conversation on radio," she added, referencing what appears to be a broader political debate that has spilled into the public domain.

Clearly unimpressed by the tone and quality of the exchange, the General Manager of GHOne TV and Starr FM called on political actors and their supporters to elevate the national conversation. “Honestly, you lot need to raise the level of political discourse,” she stated.

The broadcaster, known for her bold takes on social and political issues, is the latest to express concern over what many see as a growing trend of personal attacks, misinformation, and unserious narratives dominating Ghana's political space.
