Amapiano star DJ Azonto has fired back at Hiplife legend Barima Sidney, who dismissed Azonto's demand for $10 million from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. DJ Azonto had previously requested compensation for the Vice President's use of his hit song 'Fa No Fom' at a campaign rally. Barima Sidney labeled Azonto's claim as unrealistic in a recent interview, but DJ Azonto insists Dr. Bawumia has the means to fulfill the demand.
"Don't mind Barima Sidney; that's why he is poor. I intend to present a petition to the office of the Vice President for full compensation for the use of my song," DJ Azonto retorted. He also hinted at seeking legal action if his claim is not met and announced the release of a new single, "Dr Bawumia 10 Million Dollars," on June 1, 2024, addressing the ongoing issue.
DJ Azonto will on June 1, 2024, release a single titled "Dr Bawumia 10 Million Dollars" as he seeks to address issues relating to the compensation claim.
