Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea voiced his support for Bruno Fernandes following his match-winning performance at Fulham.

De Gea playfully ridiculed the suggestion that Fernandes was unfit to be the captain of Manchester United.

This came after the Portuguese star's goal secured all three points for his team against Fulham.

Commenting jokingly on Fernandes' Instagram post, he wrote, "You are not the right captain 🤐".

This statement seems to be a response to the criticism from the renowned former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, who suggested that Fernandes should be relieved of his captaincy duties.

Keane's remarks on Sky Sports came after Fernandes delivered a lacklustre performance in Manchester United's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford in the Premier League last Sunday.

De Gea, on the other hand, is currently a free agent after departing from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

In the meantime, Erik ten Hag's team is turning their focus to a crucial match against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
