During the inauguration of Wahu, Accra's inaugural electric motorbike factory, Afriyie assured the media of GIPC's commitment to actively support the prosperity of foreign enterprises.“GIPC and WAHU have been working closely to spotlight their activities to bring the very important conversations around e-mobility, which has a number of benefits in terms of environmental stability and also mitigating the impact of climate change,” he said.

He emphasised the collaboration between GIPC and Wahu in shedding light on e-mobility, underscoring its environmental benefits and its role in addressing climate change impacts.Afriyie asserted, "In Africa, trailblazers like Wahu face bureaucratic obstacles, and GIPC has been addressing investor concerns, especially regarding fiscal incentives for companies like WAHU and others in the sector.

"Meanwhile, Valerie Labi, Co-founder and CEO of WAHU, called upon the government to alleviate the substantial tax burden on the industry.Labi emphasized the potential for economic stimulation by reducing taxes, encouraging a focus on the transition to a net-zero climate.She urged the government to support businesses like WAHU for a more robust and sustainable economy.

“There is a huge opportunity for us to re-stimulate our economy if we focus our economy and climate transition to net zero. And it will only happen if one we believe in ourselves. Two, our government wakes up and really stops overly taxing businesses like myself (WAHU) and makes a decision to support us.”
