Prior to the just-ended Super Delegates Conference, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, subscribed to the idea of Mr Kyerematen being the running mate of Vice President Dr Bawumia.

But he has changed his stance following the results of the conference held on Saturday, August 16, 2023.
2
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia won the super delegates conference held on Saturday, August 26th, with a total of 629 votes, representing 68.15% of the total valid votes.
3
Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong came in second with 132 votes, while former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen placed third with 95 votes.
4
According to Chairman Wontumi, the ability of Ken Agyapong to secure the second position, which many thought would be held by Alan Kyerematen makes him best suited to battle the National Democratic Congress (NDC) alongside the Vice President.
5
He said: "Kennedy is (an) asset and that's why when I mentioned four people, I mention his name before mine. Everybody is an asset, but if Alan didn't contest, we wouldn't be here.
6
"Then we were talking about Bawumia-Alan but now that Kennedy is second, we are going to talk about Bawumia-Kennedy That is the truth."
