The Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has revealed that, for the first time, the party has won several constituencies it has consistently lost since 1992.Addressing the media, he attributed the victory to God's grace and the united efforts of patriotic Ghanaians, adding that the people have clearly lost faith in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, this unexpected victory has left some of the executives of the party awe over the results tropping in from different constituencies.He emphasized that the NDC's victory is certain and urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to promptly announce the party's flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, as the winner.

"We have won in constituencies that the NPP has never won since the 1992 elections and it is unimaginable, unbelievable and incredible that even some of us struggle to believe. The scale of the victory that God has graced us with and the people of this country," he added.
