2 mins readPolice in Wa have arrested a 29-year-old student of the Wa Polytechnic for posing as a police officer. Peter Suntaa Winslows who was dressed in police uniform when he was arrested at Kpaguri upon a tip-off. He was later arraigned before the Wa Circuit court and remanded into police custody and to reappear on Tuesday.

The suspect told the police upon interrogation that the police uniform was given to him by the Regional Police Band for March 6, 2017 rehearsals. He is alleged to be the mastermind of several robbery cases in the region and neighbouring Burkina Faso. As a leader of the robbery syndicate, he is alleged to have trained several people and who are dotted around the Upper West Region. Fuseini Sunkari is accused of violently robbing and killing several people in the region including a police officer stationed at Wechiau in the Wa West district two years ago.
