2 mins readA 49-year-old farmer, Kofi Nugo, has been apprehended by the police on suspicion of shooting his brother, Robert, and a bystander named Hunor Adza following a dispute at Agbedorkofe in the Agotime-Ziope District of the Volta Region.Reportedly, Hunor Adza's condition is stable, while Robert's condition is critical, requiring urgent medical attention at the Ho Teaching Hospital.

Law enforcement sources have confirmed the incident and indicated that investigations are underway.According to an anonymous eyewitness who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the altercation unfolded on the evening of Thursday, March 21. Kofi Nugo, accompanied by Hunor Adza, visited their mother, Madam Agbowugbe Abadzivor, who was attending a meeting in Agbedorkofe.

Mr Nugo attempted to persuade his mother to accompany him home for discussions, but she declined, prompting Nugo to resort to force by attempting to drag her away.The eyewitness explained that Robert, who was also present at the meeting, intervened and urged Nugo to cease his actions. However, Nugo persisted, resulting in Robert pushing him to the ground in an attempt to halt his actions.

This escalation reportedly angered Nugo, prompting him to retrieve a firearm from his residence with the intention of shooting his brother. Unfortunately, Hunor Adza, who was nearby, was mistakenly shot by Nugo in the chaos.Subsequently, Robert rushed to assist Hunor Adza, who was injured and on the ground. Nugo, realizing his error, fired additional shots at Robert, injuring him in the abdomen and chest.

Following the incident, Nugo fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police from his hideout on Friday, March 22. He is currently cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigations.
