A suspected armed robbery attempt at a forex bureau in Abeka Lapaz, Accra, was disrupted on Friday afternoon, drawing swift police intervention. The incident took place at the Raman Forex Bureau, situated near Las Palmas in the heart of the busy Abeka Lapaz area.Eyewitnesses reported that two armed men entered the bureau and demanded money at gunpoint.

Quick-thinking bystanders outside locked the doors, trapping the suspects and employees inside before notifying the police.Approximately 40 police officers, arriving in two groups, quickly surrounded the building and secured the area, instructing onlookers to move beyond the barricades.

Officers spent about 20 minutes devising a strategy to enter the bureau, located on the ground floor of a two-story building, with additional reinforcements arriving during the process.Upon entry, however, the police discovered only the forex bureau staff, with no sign of the suspected robbers. It remains unclear how the perpetrators managed to escape the locked building.
