Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the vice-presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and running mate to John Dramani Mahama, has vowed that the party will rejuvenate Ghana’s economy if they win the upcoming election.
She pointed out the urgent need for economic recovery, given the decline experienced under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang outlined the NDC's plan to implement a 24-hour economy policy designed to revitalize the nation.
This policy is a key part of the party’s strategy to address and correct the economic issues caused by the current administration.
The proposed 24-hour economy will benefit businesses with tax incentives, reduced tariffs, and improved productivity. Additionally, the policy's job shift system aims to generate more job opportunities and enhance financial stability for workers and households.
In her address to the Chiefs at Denkyira Bibianiha in the Upper Denkyira East constituency, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang encouraged all sectors to engage actively with the forthcoming 24-hour economy initiative.
“The NDC will restore hope and rebuild the economy to meet the aspirations of Ghanaians. We have done it before, and you can trust us to do it again for you,” she said.
