2 mins readA Police Constable stationed at the Enchi District Police Command lost his life in a fatal accident on the Kwahu-Omanpe Road in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region. The deceased officer, identified as Prince Amoah, was involved in the incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, between 12:00 and 13:00 hours.Prince Amoah's body has been deposited at the Agyapa funeral home for autopsy and preservation.

Three other personnel who were traveling with him survived the accident but are currently receiving treatment at the Samartex hospital in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality.According to reports gathered by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the police personnel were on their way to carry out their daily routine patrol duty in the Aowin Municipality. They were aboard a vehicle with registration number GP 2694 when the tragic incident occurred.

The vehicle, reportedly traveling on the Kwahu-Omanpe Road, veered off a wooden bridge and landed in a ditch. The accident took place between Kwahu-Omanpe, leading to the unfortunate demise of Prince Amoah. Witnesses in the vicinity immediately responded to the incident, rescuing the victims and rushing them to the Samartex hospital for urgent medical attention.

Despite the efforts made, Constable Prince Amoah could not be saved and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The surviving personnel are currently undergoing treatment as the community grapples with the shock of the tragic event.The Ghana Police have initiated investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident, aiming to determine the cause and contributing factors.
