The results have generated mixed reactions from political analysts and commentators. Some have praised Bawumia's overwhelming victory as a reflection of his popularity and competence as the Vice President and a loyal deputy to President Nana Akufo-Addo. They have also lauded Agyapong's impressive performance as a sign of his grassroots appeal and outspokenness on national issues.
4
Others have expressed surprise at Kyeremanteng's low showing, given his previous attempts at the flagbearership and his perceived closeness to the party's tradition.
5
The NPP will hold a run-off election between Addai-Nimoh and Agyarko on September 2, 2023, to determine who will join the other four candidates in the final round of the presidential primary.

The run-off winner will then face Bawumia, Agyapong, Kyeremanteng, and Akoto in the presidential primary on November 4, 2023. The presidential primary will be held in all 275 constituencies of the country and will be open to all registered members of the party.
