A video circulating on social media captures the farmers of Kwahu Hwehwe lamenting the low purchasing prices offered by market women.
According to the farmers, a significant portion of their tomato harvest is being bought at very low prices despite the large quantities available.
The farmers lament that, irrespective of their pricing demands, they are at a disadvantage because they do not possess any power.
One farmer, granting an interview, lamented that failing to adhere to the market women's demands leaves their produce to waste.
He is, therefore, calling on the government to come to their aid to address the issue.
"We are at a disadvantage. We harvest a lot of produce for little money. We don't know what is happening. When we refuse to sell to them at such low prices, our harvest goes to waste. We are pleading with the government to come to our aid," the farmer stated.
