Hip-hop artist Nana Kwaku Duah, also known by his stage name Tic, has bemoaned the high cost of living in his homeland, which has forced him to forgo buying some foods that he used to.He expressed his shock at learning that Kenkey now cost GH5, which forced him and his family to stop buying it because it is one of the most beloved foods.

The hiphop artist admitted that during his lifetime, kenkey was one of the least expensive foods, and he never anticipated that the cost would increase to such a degree.Tic lamented the GH5 price of coconuts at the moment and expressed concern over the state of the Ghanaian economy.

His remark follows the country's ongoing economic crisis, which has led to an increase in the number of protests and angry citizen rants on social media as a means of communicating with the government.“Honestly I and my household love kenkey, but now we don’t buy it that often because a ball of kenkey is now GH¢5. I never imagined this day will come whereby kenkey, one of the cheapest food in my lifetime will cost that much.

Can you imagine one coconut is now GH¢5 too. This is the reality,” Tic wrote on his Twitter page.He shares the same concerns as other well-known people who have urged the Akufo-Addo-led administration to pay attention to Ghanaians' complaints and fix the economy.
