2 mins readA necklace that holds the record for the most valuable necklace in the world has been revealed by the Guinness World Records.The necklace, named Mouawad "L'Incomparable", features the largest flawless diamond in the world, a yellow stone weighing 407.48 carats, also known as the Incomparable.The diamond is suspended gracefully from a 229.52-carat white diamond necklace, intertwined by 18-karat rose gold branchlets.

The necklace also contains a further 102 diamonds cut into various shapes.The necklace was valued in 2013 at £36,361,232 ($55,000,000), and was created by the Lebanese jeweler Mouawad, which has been honored by Guinness World Records five times for its exceptional creations.The Incomparable diamond has a remarkable history, as it was discovered by a young girl in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1980.

She found the diamond among a pile of rubble from an old mine, and gave it to her uncle, who sold it to a local dealer.The diamond was then bought by a group of investors, who spent four years cutting and polishing it to reveal its beauty and brilliance.The diamond was first exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC in 1984, and then at the Natural History Museum in London in 1987.

In 2002, the diamond was acquired by Mouawad, which decided to transform it into a stunning necklace, along with other diamonds from its collection.The necklace was unveiled in 2013 at the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition in Qatar, where it attracted the attention of the Guinness World Records.The necklace has since been displayed in various exhibitions and events around the world, and has been admired by many celebrities and royalty.
