Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, made a surprise appearance at a polling station in the Bantama Constituency, seemingly in robust health, after recent reports of his illness had circulated widely.

The sudden turnaround has left many scratching their heads and speculating about the nature of the earlier reports.

Speculations about Chairman Wontumi's health began circulating earlier this week when it was reported that he was unwell , following a summon by the Kumasi Traditional Council.

Chairman Wontumi is being sought over some remarks he recently made. He was asked to present himself before the Kumasi Traditional Council after the remarks but failed to. It was later reported that he wasn’t in good shape, hence, his failure to appear before the council. However, he miraculously showed up at the voting centre in the Ashanti Region.
