Gunmen at large after fatally shooting Saboba MP's bodyguard on May 2, T 2024.

Reports reveals that the bodyguard, unnamed in the report, served under Joseph Nikpe Bukari, an NDC lawmaker.

The Ghana Police Service confirmed the tragic incident in a statement, disclosing the fatal shooting of two off-duty officers.

According to myNewsGh.com, the officers were shot in front of their Trassacco residence. One died at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries at Legon Hospital.

The police statement stated: "The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for two gunmen who fatally shot two off-duty police officers sitting in front of their private residence at Block Factory, East Trassacco, Accra, today, Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, at about 6:00 pm."

The statement noted the gunmen didn't take anything and fled on a motorbike.

An operation to apprehend the suspects is underway.

"An intelligence-led operation to apprehend the suspects is currently ongoing," the statement concluded.
