One of the personal assistants to Ghana's Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has achieved a significant milestone by being admitted to the Bar.
Zelia Amsat Osman was part of a group of over 1000 individuals called to the Ghana Bar by the General Legal Council. The event was overseen by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Expressing her enthusiasm to GhanaWeb, Zelia reflected on her journey to this accomplishment, highlighting that she is the first in her family to attain a degree.
“I am the only child of my parents and the first to obtain a university degree in my family, making this achievement a very exciting one for my family and the people of Bawku in the Upper East Region,” she told GhanaWeb.
While studying at the Ghana School of Law, Zelia actively participated in the electoral race for the Students Representative Council (SRC) presidency, although she did not emerge victorious.
Additionally, she is involved in the management of an NGO called Hammys Foundation, dedicated to assisting the underprivileged in Ghana, with a particular focus on supporting girls and the elderly.
