The Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Ghana Highway Authority, has started putting up crash barriers across the country to help make highways safer.
These barriers are currently being fixed along the Koforidua-Mamfe-Aburi road, at the Brimso Bridge, and around the Dimples roundabout near the Achimota Forest.
This step comes after similar barriers were installed on the Aburi-Nsawam road, which helped reduce accidents and made the area safer for drivers.
The ministry says they have officially handed over the sites to Messrs Hacienda Enterprise Ltd, the company doing the job, so they can begin work.
“This vital road safety exercise aims to protect road users and enhance overall highway safety. Motorists are advised to drive with caution around active construction zones.
We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to make our roads safer for all,” the Ministry added in a statement.
