1 min readBernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, who serves as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to government appointees regarding their lack of engagement in the party's campaign for the upcoming 2024 elections.

He emphasised that any appointee who fails to demonstrate their commitment to the party and the positions they hold will face consequences after the elections.

Wontumi pointed out that even candidates like Kennedy Agyapong, who are running against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, are actively campaigning on the ground.
2
He insisted that appointees must set aside any complacency and actively participate in efforts to secure the party's continued governance.
3
“If you supported Dr. Bawumia during the primaries, you have not done anything. He wants to be president, and that is what you should support him to achieve. Kennedy Agyapong, who contested him, is campaigning and working to ensure that we win.
4
They have had to prove themselves that they are party members.
5
In 2016, we won the elections, so if you are an appointee and you don’t prove yourself, we will come after you. Prove yourself.
6
We don’t speak English, but if you campaign well, everyone will know. Bawumia doesn’t have to say he is campaigning; Samira Bawumia doesn’t have to say she is campaigning; everyone will know,” he said.
