2 mins readVice Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has donated $7,500 to cover the surgery costs for 3-year-old Patnam Kantam, who has a hole in his heart.She also gave Ghc5,000 in cash to the boy's parents to help with his care after the surgery.Patnam was admitted to the National Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

With his family struggling to pay for the surgery, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stepped in to cover the medical expenses.She presented the cheque and the cash to the family at the hospital, expressing hope that the surgery would be successful and thanking the hospital staff for their hard work and dedication.She said “I just want to express my appreciation for the care you have given him and you give to so many others in different circumstances.

I feel rather privileged that it has been possible for us to come and give the support that is necessary.”
his part, the Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah, praised Prof. Opoku-Agyemang for not just paying for the cost of the surgery but also for showing up in person at the Centre.“A lot of people will just send a dispatch with a
