The desire, ambition, and drive for power have instilled in Ghanaian political parties a level of animosity and dissatisfaction towards each other that they are willing to set the country ablaze just to gain power, according to former Chief of Defence Staff, Joseph Nunoo-Mensah.
Speaking on TV3's Hot Issues on June 17, 2024, the former Chief of Defence Staff fumed at the attitude of politicians of opposing political parties as they raced for the Jubilee House.
"And now we hate ourselves so much so that, if I say we, I mean the people of Ghana, especially our political parties, hate each other so much that they can burn; in fact, they are prepared to burn the country; it means securing power rather than letting their opponent win," he opined.
