1 min readOn October 10, 2023, the remains of the late Enoch Teye Mensah, former Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, arrived in Ghana from South Africa. His passing in South Africa was confirmed by his family on October 2, 2023, while he was in the country for health-related reasons.

A video stream shared by the state broadcaster, GBC, showed a bustling scene at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) as representatives from government, parliament, family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to receive the remains, which arrived on a South African Airways plane.

Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, represented President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and officially received the mortal remains of the late minister and Greater Accra Regional Member of the Council of State. Traditional rituals were observed before the military transported the late ET Mensah's body to a designated area, with the national flag adorning his remains.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) was represented by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey and other high-ranking officials. Following a brief ceremony, the body was conveyed to the morgue.Enoch Teye Mensah, the former sports minister, passed away at the age of 77. He was born on May 17, 1946, and served as a Minister for Education and a Member of Parliament in Ghana from January 1997 until January 2017.
