A Parliamentary Ad-Hoc Committee set up by Speaker Alban Bagbin to investigate allegations concerning a plot to remove the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, has begun its public hearing.

The former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu, is appearing before the committee today.

Bugri Naabu has been accused of participating in a meeting where discussions were held regarding the potential removal of the IGP.

He was scheduled to appear before the Committee last Thursday but failed to show, citing ill health as the reason.
