The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled its Agona West Parliamentary Primary for Saturday, April 13, 2024.
In a statement issued by General Secretary Justin Kodua on Wednesday, the party's National Secretariat released protocols to govern the conduct of the primary. These protocols aim to uphold the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
The primary will take place at a single voting center situated at Otabilkrom Astroturf, Agona Swedru. The Electoral Commission of Ghana will oversee the election, ensuring transparency, freedom, and fairness.
Security arrangements will be managed solely by the Ghana Police Service, with restricted access beyond security perimeters limited to delegates, authorized personnel appointed by the National Secretariat and Region as election supervisors, contestants, and their accredited agents.
On the day of voting, there will be no gatherings permitted, and no provision for speeches by party executives, government officials, regional party executives, constituency executives, contestants, or their representatives.
Voters are expected to enter the voting area independently, without camping of delegates. Escorting to the voting screen will be limited to those with mobility issues and with the consent of the Electoral Commission.
