The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed that it will not release the findings of its internal committee tasked with probing the party’s loss in the 2024 general elections.
According to the party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, the report is classified for internal use and is not intended for public dissemination.
Speaking to JoyNews after the 12-member committee presented its findings to the party’s leadership in Accra, Mr. Ahiagba emphasized that the document will be instrumental in steering reforms ahead of the 2028 polls.
“It is an internal document that will guide the party’s reform process and help position us for victory in 2028. So, while it may not have been explicitly stated, it is clearly implied that the document is not meant for public consumption,” he said.
The investigative committee was chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, and was tasked with examining factors that contributed to the party’s electoral defeat.
While the report will remain under wraps, Mr. Ahiagba assured party faithful that the key takeaways will be communicated through other channels.
“There are ways our supporters will be made aware of the key issues without the report being officially released to the public,” he noted.
He further indicated that the party considers the recommendations essential to reshaping its direction and strategy going forward.
Mr. Ahiagba concluded that the party’s focus is now on rebuilding and preparing effectively for the next general elections.
