The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has temporarily halted its parliamentary primaries in the Nhyiaeso Constituency.

This decision follows the filing of an interlocutory injunction by one of the aspirants, leading to the postponement of the scheduled election.

During the National Executive Committee meeting held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the party took additional actions, disqualifying an aspirant in the Bimbilla constituency. This move results in the Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, running unopposed.

In Ayawaso West-Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan is set to go unopposed after the rejection of the appeal by the party’s former constituency youth organizer, Owusu Amankwah.

Furthermore, approximately thirty other aspirants are poised to run unopposed in the NPP’s parliamentary primaries scheduled for January 27 in constituencies where the party currently holds representation.
